I am familiar with several books by the writer Jules Verne, one of these books is «Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea». For me, the positive hero of this novel is Captain Nemo. 

The novel tells about the adventures of Captain Nemo on his built submarine "Nautilus" - a technological marvel of the time described. The story is told in the first person.

Captain Nemo is an engineer, inventor, designer, ocean scientist, fighter against British colonialism. Creator and commander of the fantastic underwater ship "Nautilus", which operates in two novels by Jules Verne: "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" and "The Mysterious Island", Nemo's boat, described by Jules Verne, was controlled by electrical energy and far exceeded the potential of scientific and technological progress of his time. One of the main traits of Nemo that drew attention to his image was mystery. Mystery and technological progress - seemingly incompatible phenomena, since progress in most cases is based on the use for practical

purposes of the laws of the world around us, discovered by science: nature poses riddles, science solves them.

On the boat "Nautilus" he set sail with like-minded people. Since then, the first man to step into the depths of the ocean, lost, in his own words, and faith, and the motherland, and the name - and became known as Captain Nemo ("Nobody"). He claimed that he was forever dead to the earth and all people, thus announcing a protest to the whole world. Captain Nemo tried to find peace of mind in the ocean... In love with the sea, Nemo believed that only there could a man escape the injustices of society and live a truly free life. Nemo is described as a strong-willed man, tough and sometimes even cruel. Having failed to find the desired peace in the ocean depths, he continues to take revenge on the British, the perpetrators of his personal troubles and the troubles of his homeland.

Is Captain Nemo a positive hero? I believe that Captain Nemo is a positive hero. For me, Nemo is the embodiment of a true hero, noble, courageous, determined and just. In addition, Nemo is handsome, has enviable strength and health. But unfortunately, he's unhappy. He feels a grief hidden from everyone. "Nautilus" helps Captain Nemo to hide from people and together with a few loyal companions to leave human society to find freedom in the elements of the ocean. Captain Nemo is seen as a representative of knowledge, science and progress, fighting injustice. He is definitely a positive character!
