Jules Verne “ The Mysterious island ” Part 2 “ Abandoned ” (page 142):

“ I believe that water will one day be employed as fuel, that hydrogen and oxygen which constitute it, used singly or together, will furnish an inexhaustible source of heat and light, of an intensity of which coal is not capable ” – is a prophetic quote from the book of Jules Verne, “The Mysterious island”. Indeed, water fuel is a progressive energy source of the beginning of the 21st century, which has overtaken not only coal, but also gasoline in terms of productivity, becoming a "panacea" from the fuel crisis. In his books, Jules Verne has repeatedly predicted amazing scientific discoveries. For example, he was the first who propose the concept of an airplane, in the modern sense. As another of his quotes says: “Fantasy knows no bounds when it is based on faith ”- therefore it is unknown what prophecies of this great writer have yet to come true in the future. So maybe intergalactic travel from science fiction movies is not such a fiction?
